Urgent "on-the-day" arrangements
We have trialled a "triage" system first thing in a morning for "on-the-day" appointments, which has worked very well for patients and the surgery. Therefore, we have now implemented this system every week day. This allows patients to speak to a GP first, before attending surgery, and allows the patient and GP to decide the best option to deal with their medical problem that day.
Can we remind patients that the late afternoon urgent arrangements are not a "5pm drop in clinic" and are only bookable via reception for patients who need to be seen "on the day" and consider that their problem cannot wait until the next routine appointment. These arrangements are only used when all of the other routine appointments have been filled. The receptionist will inform patients that there may be a wait as the GPs are seeing patients at the end of the day's regular surgeries. Patients may also be asked to attend the "choice+" clinics at Moreton-in-marsh or Bourton-on-the-water for urgent medical issues which cannot wait until the next day. Many thanks.

Please note - The Out of hours system has changed between 6 30 pm and 8 am - the answerphone now advises you to hang up and dial 111 for the NHS 111 service. Calls are free from both landlines and mobiles. For life threatening emergencies, please dial 999.

We are currently experiencing an extremely high level of demand over the winter period for GP appointments and home visits. We have booked locum GP surgeries (with GP locums we use regularly and who know the surgery well) to try and help with demand. Please only request a home visit if you need medical treatment and are housebound. Routine appointments with GP's can be booked up to 8 weeks in advance if your problem is not urgent.

Your call will be answered by the NHS 111 medical answering service. They will contact the most appropriate service for your symptoms.
In order to avoid blocking the line at busy times, we would ask you to ring for test results after 2pm weekdays on 841894. The doctor will have left a message for the receptionists to access on your notes.
If a visit is required, please try and phone early in the day. The doctor may telephone before visiting. Home visits are available for those patients who are housebound and in need of medical treatment.
